i'm a strong independant woman...

which is why i wish desperately for someone to magically fix everything that's awkward and hurting. however, since vampire eric the awesome is unavailable, i guess i'll have to do it myself. *snark

later edit: i actually think sean bean might be a good idea too... you know, he's got very a very menacing, no-nonsense look even as a human. and he's an aries. according to my astrology books and some real-life experiences aries are great for exacting vengeance like an angry god, championing your rights and be general knights in shining armour. well, as long as they're not playing the royal pain in the butt part (which, according to my sister, is their favourite role)

saturn return

for some particular reason, this fills me with glee. maybe because it's supposed to mean putting an end to the confusing mess that threatens to expand beyond my abilities to control it. and what time more appropriate is for saturn to hit libra than samhain?

The first Saturn Return is famous because it represents the first test of character and the structures a person has built their lives upon. According to traditions, should these structures be unsound or that a person is living out of touch with his or her true values, the Saturn Return will be a time of upheaval and limitations as Saturn forces him or her to jettison old concepts and worn out patterns of living. It is not uncommon for relationships and jobs to end during this time of life restructuring and reevaluation.

But the Saturn Return is not all about painful endings. During this time astrologers note that goals are consolidated and people tend to gain a better vision of where they are going in life. There are added responsibilities and a person may reap the rewards from his or her hard work. Many major life milestones seem to happen around the ages of 29 and 30. This is why astrologers believe that the thirtieth birthday is such a major rite of passage because it marks the true beginning of adulthood, self-evaluation, independence, ambition, and self actualization.

The planet Saturn represents many archetypes, such as Father Time, the Grim Reaper and his scythe, Kronos, and the Lord of Karma. It is the ruler of limitations, fears, seriousness, responsibilities, burdens, and lessons (thank you. now let's move on). While those concepts may come across as negative, Saturn also astrologically rules over civilization, government, structures, harvests (maybe this is why i am having a generalized problem with harvesting right now), prestige, maturity, and order. Plus, Saturn is exalted in Libra. This explains the fairness issue i am developing and the rewards issue. because, you know, it's all about balance. you give and you get. there's no such thing as a free meal. Saturn has a scale but also a scythe. maybe i will stop fearing to use the scythe.

oh, cleolinda, what are you doing to me?

Cleolinda is awesome. She's the best blogger i've read so far for numerous reasons including: dolls! humor! vampires (i discovered Twilight and Neil Gaiman because of Cleolinda so... thanks). Also because she's the only woman i know (fine, in a very virtual way. i stalk her blog every day) i can identify with. which is why i will buy her vampire e-book. in real life, she is the kind of woman i would totally hang out with. and i love the way she does not spout general sentences like "people are so fake, but i will never compromise", "the world today is rotten" and... you know the rest.
also, gothic dolls, omg. I really want the red haired one, she is soooooooo pretty.
now excuse me while i go sulk and throw a giant self-pity party. because i'm tired, frustrated, numb, dizzy, EXHAUSTED on every level after this bad bad bad bad rotten year that hated me so much. right now, i feel like crawling under a rock and wait for 2010.

romance is not dead

no matter what certain jaded capricorns and virgoans believe. it's just a matter of perspective and where to look for it.

sunday musings

so, yeah, birthday was... busy. but not in the yay-partaaaaay sense, but in the work-work-work-chores-slavery-i-will-die-attached-to-a-computer sense. on the bright side, at least i didn't cry. on the down side, next time i swear that i will get one of these :

So this is the only thing on my to-do list for next year. because, you know, i'm getting so sick of this goddamn ox year and its neverending work like a mule which brought the exact same amount of payment as a mule. so, in a year's time, significant other or not by my side, i want to go for 2 nights in sorrento and have lunch under the lemon trees and drink wine. then have romantic dinner and drink wine and be slightly dizzy and romanced on the amalfi coast and dance in the street and wake up in a room full of roses with a note on the table where it is written "from a secret admirer". because next year i will be 30 therefore in my goddamn prime and i deserve something special like that.

and since we're still at this, let's go on with the dementia. secret admirer would be tall and very intelligent, romantic and be fluent in english/french/italian also preferably japanese, would order dinner for me and be very knowledgeable in local history and customs. also, he will wear a beige/light gray sweater and be slightly tanned. and just when i'm about to leave home, he will whisk me off to adventures on goa, because he, like, totally loves me and he's not afraid to express it in every way available and we shall leave this mundane world behind forever.

happy birthday self

now, let's get back to work

yes, i know.

new moon video. another one. which i like.

and you know what? i actually think this is fab. because it shows just how new moon could have been a good story, at least by my standards. so edward ditches bella because this is the way most men deal with situations that require them to be responsible and sensible - by running away (i said most, not all!), but bella hasn't yet discovered that concept so emocakes, blah blah jacob, blah. and then alice shows up and tells bella "hiiiiiiii, you smell good. also edward is not the brightest bulb in the christmas tree though possibly the sparkliest thus he decided to commit suicide by volturi omg. because he thought you were dead". running away to italy ensues and when noon strikes midday bella runs towards edward just like in the movie but ohnoes he actually steps into the light and littlest jane tasers him with her mind then the other volturi rip him to pieces. and bella sees all that so the volturi chomp her as well. it's incredibly tragic and then marcus recites poetry over their dead bodies and stuff because he sees relationships.

jacob is heartbroken for a while but then he has a nice and healthy relationship with angela who is actually a decent human being and does not have a death wish. fin. well, the jacob part can be left out, i just added it there because i decided to be on team jacob.
see, this is why i love internet. on internet you can publish fan fiction, even of the worst kind.

a bit of music

duh, of course it's from the new moon soundtrack. and you know what? this is an album i would actually buy because it's so very lovable. on my favourites list it ranks up there with the romeo and juliet soundtrack.

ohnoes

First Eclipse pictures from the set. OMG Bella and Edward!
Also, there will be Breaking Dawn!
"wilight fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has been green-lit by Summit Entertainment! According to sources, the fourth and final story in Stephanie Meyer’s series will be released in two parts and production will once again take place in Portland, Oregon. In addition a new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought in for Breaking Dawn, which is due to shooting in September 2010.

Creator of Sunswept Entertainment, Karen Rosenfelt will produce, Rosenfelt also served as Producer on “Twilight” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon“. A director has not yet been attached to the project.(I am voting for Cronenberg!)

According to sources there will likely be heavy censoring of Breaking Dawn’s explicit sex and birth scenes in order to avoid an ‘R’ rating." Not fair! It wouldn't be Breaking Dawn without the mutant birth. It's actually a plot point!!! Get Cronenberg to direct and he'll also get you an Oscar. Maybe. And the sex-scenes... anyway, they're very vague yet so lolarious in the book. So it won't be hard to fade them to black in the movie since Meyer does the exact same thing in the book. Also, we will be deprived of Bella's inner nasty? Does this also mean that the whole negotiating about sexing/marriage/vampiring in Eclipse will be toned down? Please Summit, I've been so good! And actually the negotiating was the only thing close to reality in those books because everyone knows that relationships are all about haggling.

the curse of the fire moons

one of the patterns that keeps repeating in my life is attracting people with fire moons. no, really. as a rule, my most important relationships (friendship, love, what have you) involved someone with a blazing moon. that is extremely puzzling, at least from my point of view. because fire moons don't value same stuff capricorn moons do, plus they tend to explode rather easily. and capricorn moons don't blow off steam on a regular basis. i, for one, have fits measuring 9 on a richter scale only when i just can't take it anymore (which happens just as rarely and it's just as scary as a real earthquake). anyway, found an article on sasstrology about fire moon guys:

Moon in Aries: Men with this Moon are conflicted about closeness. Dependency is threatening, so he keeps on the move to avoid sticky involvements. He looks for a take-charge female who won’t expect to be babied and who might accidentally nurture him a bit while running the show. Unfortunately, Mom also wore the pants, and he’s got a chip on his shoulder toward women because of it. He takes a fighting stance toward any threat to his security.

Action is his remedy for any problem, even those with no immediate solution. Emotions threaten him, too, so look for a good fight if you provoke any. It’s not easy to get next to him with the soft, sharing aspects of relating because it’s so hard for him to own up to those parts of himself. For him, sex may be a sublimation of the finer facets of intimacy.

Men with Aries Moons: Antonio Banderas, Anderson Cooper, Enrique Iglesias, Emeril Lagasse, Mario Lopez, Kevin Spacey, Kiefer Sutherland, Randy Travis, Stevie Wonder and a bajillion athletes.

Moon in Leo: The Leo Moon may actually be quite dependent, but puts on a show of confidence and fearlessness, with a certain sort of smug machismo. He’s too proud to show his needs or confess his insecurities. He may cover up by roaring and striking out as fiercely as the lion which symbolizes his sign. Leo expects to rule, so when his dominance is questioned, he may become angry. Still, he genuinely enjoys women and can make you feel like a princess. The role of queen is reserved for his mom, who could be quite the Queen Bee and thus a bit much to deal with as a mother-in-law.

His home is his castle and he likes the décor to reflect that. He is luxury-loving and wants meals fit for a king. You, as Queen Consort, must preside at his functions as perfectly as the Queen Mother herself did when he was growing up. Leo Moons, on the positive side, are sunny rather than brooding, so the general emotional tone is warm and fun-loving.

Men with Leo Moons: The older generation with Moon in Leo include Tom Selleck and Kris Kristofferson. Others with this Moon sign are Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Chad Lowe, and the late Patrick Swayze.

...still waiting for the saggie mooners

good news

My Isolde is going to star in a romance movie... A really dark one too. I just knew she was on the right track. Quote from the Playlist ensues:
"Gus Van Sant's new project "Restless," is coming along nicely. Australian star-in-the-making Mia Wasikowska (the lead of Tim Burton's upcoming "Alice In Wonderland") is in final negotiations to take the lead role in what is being called a dark coming-of-age drama by THR. Last time it was described as a "contemporary and distinctive take on young love," so the details seem to be a bit clearer. Though Movieline have the script and they've called the film, "the most emo love story to ever don black lipstick and listen to The Smiths."

Protagonist Enoch Brae is a 17-year-old funeral crasher, drawn to attending strangers’ memorials after losing both his parents. At one of them, he meets the beautiful, tomboyish Annabel Cotton (Wasikowska), a 16-year-old with Six Months to Live. Love then blooms among the gravestones as “the moon looks on knowingly and sympathetically."
A male lead also needs to be cast. Are we looking at a Robert Pattinson-type figure and then maybe a "Romeo & Juliet"/ "Twilight"-like following perhaps?"

This looks like it's going to be my next guilty pleasure. And then a very smart director will have a stroke of genius and decide that hey! doomed love stories are all the rage now. let's just make a tristan and isolde movie that actually follows the damn story because it's perfect the way it is. And Robert Pattinson can't and will not play Tristan. Because i said so.

P.S. Mia is also blonde... you know, like Iseult la blonde? *wink

my tiny little secret

some people cope with chronic fatigue and general insecurity about life via therapy and other remedies. Some other people, like myself, live in complete denial. which is why i can't wait to see eclipse. fine, new moon is very very emocakes, edward leaves, bella is crushed (she really needs a reality check there - in real life, that's not healthy!! met a real bella a few weeks ago and she was not a pretty sight) blah blah. but eclipse is much more lolarious since we get to see bella swan's true colors and the camping scene is so ... well, simply put, if i am down and read that i'm all shiny lulz.

more new moon soundtrack

the music is totally great.

also, the "satellite heart, lost in the dark" of "i-see-what-you-did-there". see, someone was right about calling me a goth at heart.as in mary-shelley-old-school-romantic-gothic not as in wear-black-listen-to-obscure-bands-growling-gothic.

what i want for my birthday

a day off from the current situation. no, really. a day in which i am not supposed to do anything and when i don't have to think about stuff (that is really the tricky part). a day when stuff is okay and i can stop worrying. but since it will be a friday, no such luck. it's a lot like wishing the most romantic dinner ever, cheesier than anything hollywood ever imagined. or wishing the Eric the Awesome vampire nances in and saves the day. or night, whathaveyou.

snarl

i'm thinking about you internet company who finally gave internet back. i hate y'all. so i had to call a gazillion times in the last 3 days and finally threat and be rude to you in order for you to repair the goddamn connection. and i am not sure that you repaired it for good. if you didn't, i'll give you hell. growl.

moon square pluto (i also have that)

Feelings.
Nothing more than feelings.
Trying to forget my feelings of love.
(And spitefulness, anger - sometimes i wish i could chop your head off, but you're not really worth spending my life in prison, jealousy, raaaaaaaaaaageeeeeee, disappointment, woundedness, discomfort, and indigestion)
Teardrops.
Rolling down on my face.
Trying to forget my
Feelings of love.
(But it’s really hard to forget when you’re always around and saying things and breathing and stuff. So do us both a favor and get lost, okay? I’m not feeling really sociable today.)

Feelings. Whoa-oh-oh… feelings…

happy birthday mmmmClive!

He's just fab...

Clive Owen loves doing housework. The British actor has two daughters, Hannah and Eve, with wife Sarah-Jane Fenton, and is happy to help out with household tasks.

Clive - who plays a single father in new film "The Boys Are Back" - said: "It didn't take a lot on my part to do laundry for a scene in my new movie because I'm a dad. I can do the laundry at my own house and I think nothing of throwing in a load."

"The truth is I'm perfectly fine around the house. I do dishes. I clean counters. I do everything."

"I'm a good guy to have around the house."

Despite being a worldwide movie star, Clive says his priority will always be his family.

The 44-year-old star added to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper: "I'm a parent, and my girls are such a huge part of my life. I go off to do my movies and then come home and look after my girls."

The "Closer" star recently said his loved ones help keep him grounded.

He explained: "I've got actor friends who didn't get breaks, who struggle and worry about things that I'm fortunate not to have to worry about."

"I don't take anything for granted. If it stopped now, I'd go, 'Clive, you had a good run there.'"

... this is like... he's handsome, successful, stayed married to the SAME woman, a good father and does stuff around the house. i just heart him so much right now.

more love for neil gaiman, for he is god

In the brand new issue of Empire Magazine, Neil Gaiman gives a little interview about a couple of his prospective future projects. Firstly, he confirms that Neil Jordan will be directing the adaptation of his excellent novel "The Graveyard Book," saying that "Henry Selick, who directed "Coraline," wanted to do it in stop-motion, but I said no. I want the ghosts in "The Graveyard Book" to be played by classic British actors, like Bill Nighy, Judi Dench and Stephen Fry." Furthermore, he also gives weight to the persistent rumors that he would be teaming with Guillermo Del Toro for an adaptation of the Marvel character "Doctor Strange": "Guillermo and I did speak about it, but he's a busy man. However, if he decides to do it, he knows I will jump on board." Pick up the new Empire for more from Gaiman.
...does this mean that MAYBE POSSIBLY i can hope that there will be an American Gods movie in some uncertain future, preferably before i die?

a boho chic winter dress
a puffy 50's light gray skirt
