today was a good day

sparkly like champagne, let there be spring and romance mood. just because. also, had to explain the story of lariska the rat. there is also a story of nydia and orinn (fancy names, quite mary sue-ish if i think of it) but this one is a whole lot darker than the story of the mischievous lariska. nydia was/is a sorceress-princess (i do love that archetype) who lives in the middle of the desert. orinn is her love interest and he got killed a few times in various fashions. then he had to be resurrected because there would not be a story without him so... there. orinn is sort of wayward and gets into a lot of troubles like that time he caused the wrath of the scorpio king. who stung him. but all in all he's .... well, a love that was meant to be and very likely the two of them have an obsessive-compulsive disorder which draws them together or probably there is some magic involved.
next on the agenda: viggo+cronenberg = love
then the clash of the titans in 15 minutes by the very awesome cleolinda. now i have to see it.
and now i'll be off to bed.

assorted thoughts

pesky cold doesn't give up. nose all runny, slightly dizzy.
the blue dress is coming out nicely, congrats self, go me.
poland declared one week of mourning, russia has only the monday of mourning. conspiracy theories are already popping out. of course they are. i mean, dense fog, old airplane and human error are not enough to cause a tragedy. the wildest one is that they used an EMP gun to damage the avionics. because an emp gun cannot be detected. does that weapon even exist for real? anyway, it was all because the polish president has made some really cutting remarks towards russia, the EU and the US.
also, i am very tempted  to make a very macabre joke about certain politicians here, but i will refrain.

happy bunny days!

also, happy bob day, happy Qingming Festival in the Chinese calendar. happy Hansik in South Korea and happy Feast Day of Vincent Ferrer.
news of the day:
earthquake in Mexico
they identified the suicide bombers in moscow. i am so shocked. the 17 yrs old widow and the schoolteacher? then there was another bomb attack in ingushetia and people were dead. this serves as a reminder of how our boring, uneventful lives about which we bitch so much are actually pretty fab. at least we don't die of terrorist attacks. or famine.
like i said: happy bunny days!

sunday morning

spent last night watching CNN reporting on the possible hawaii tsunami and all. this morning discovered there was no tsunami. lucky them. other than that the chile earthquake made me shudder because i am terrified of earthquakes. it's a huge nightmare of mine. especially since i work on the 14th floor and i am also afraid of heights.
other than that.. movies with angelina jolie who may or may not star in a bazzillion projects. meh. and yep, the world still sucks royally, it's not effing fair, no way! fine, i should be already used to that with all the things going awry but, i can't.

in which i am at work

okay, so... interview with viggo, favourite actor in the universe. no, really, crushes apart, this man is really awesome and unlike dear hughie he does not star in silly wolverine movies. he can do good/bad/heroic/romantic/whathaveyou. also, he seems like an interesting person in real life and i want him to win an oscar so bad i can't tell you.
also, i saw the "remember me" trailer, where edward cullen, sorry, rpattz is a troubled love interest. also, noticed that he is cute. looks a young leonardo di caprio, except that leo was infintely more awesome. i applaud the producers' idea of having a capricorn romantic interest for him... you know, great chemistry with taurus rob.

sunday movies

The evolution of Ewan McGreggor. My sparkly lucky star. Please send me another lucky musical dream of you.
12 more days to the New Moon premiere! Yay, shirtless vampires and werewolves! Also, Breaking Dawn may start filming next fall... i am still very much against toning down the gory/sexy elements. Because, you know, the sexing was a plot point. and it's so lolarious and OMG make it daaaaaaaaark and scary and tense. on purple-bruises-shattered-furniture-pillow-biting-om-nom-nom! and you know that, if i made that particular movie, bella would be so dead the next morning. For maximum angst. But then... there would be no Renesmee.
Also Jake Gylenhaal and the Prince of Persia...'Dear Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro. If you should need a Ranger or other human hero for The Hobbit, please consider this my audition tape. Cheers, Jake Gyllenhaal.' AHAHAHHAHA
"Precious" looks like a movie sister would love.
New Sherlock Holmes trailer!

ohnoes

First Eclipse pictures from the set. OMG Bella and Edward!
Also, there will be Breaking Dawn!
"wilight fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has been green-lit by Summit Entertainment! According to sources, the fourth and final story in Stephanie Meyer’s series will be released in two parts and production will once again take place in Portland, Oregon. In addition a new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought in for Breaking Dawn, which is due to shooting in September 2010.

Creator of Sunswept Entertainment, Karen Rosenfelt will produce, Rosenfelt also served as Producer on “Twilight” and “The Twilight Saga: New Moon“. A director has not yet been attached to the project.(I am voting for Cronenberg!)

According to sources there will likely be heavy censoring of Breaking Dawn’s explicit sex and birth scenes in order to avoid an ‘R’ rating." Not fair! It wouldn't be Breaking Dawn without the mutant birth. It's actually a plot point!!! Get Cronenberg to direct and he'll also get you an Oscar. Maybe. And the sex-scenes... anyway, they're very vague yet so lolarious in the book. So it won't be hard to fade them to black in the movie since Meyer does the exact same thing in the book. Also, we will be deprived of Bella's inner nasty? Does this also mean that the whole negotiating about sexing/marriage/vampiring in Eclipse will be toned down? Please Summit, I've been so good! And actually the negotiating was the only thing close to reality in those books because everyone knows that relationships are all about haggling.

good news

My Isolde is going to star in a romance movie... A really dark one too. I just knew she was on the right track. Quote from the Playlist ensues:
"Gus Van Sant's new project "Restless," is coming along nicely. Australian star-in-the-making Mia Wasikowska (the lead of Tim Burton's upcoming "Alice In Wonderland") is in final negotiations to take the lead role in what is being called a dark coming-of-age drama by THR. Last time it was described as a "contemporary and distinctive take on young love," so the details seem to be a bit clearer. Though Movieline have the script and they've called the film, "the most emo love story to ever don black lipstick and listen to The Smiths."

Protagonist Enoch Brae is a 17-year-old funeral crasher, drawn to attending strangers’ memorials after losing both his parents. At one of them, he meets the beautiful, tomboyish Annabel Cotton (Wasikowska), a 16-year-old with Six Months to Live. Love then blooms among the gravestones as “the moon looks on knowingly and sympathetically."
A male lead also needs to be cast. Are we looking at a Robert Pattinson-type figure and then maybe a "Romeo & Juliet"/ "Twilight"-like following perhaps?"

This looks like it's going to be my next guilty pleasure. And then a very smart director will have a stroke of genius and decide that hey! doomed love stories are all the rage now. let's just make a tristan and isolde movie that actually follows the damn story because it's perfect the way it is. And Robert Pattinson can't and will not play Tristan. Because i said so.

P.S. Mia is also blonde... you know, like Iseult la blonde? *wink

happy birthday mmmmClive!

He's just fab...

Clive Owen loves doing housework. The British actor has two daughters, Hannah and Eve, with wife Sarah-Jane Fenton, and is happy to help out with household tasks.

Clive - who plays a single father in new film "The Boys Are Back" - said: "It didn't take a lot on my part to do laundry for a scene in my new movie because I'm a dad. I can do the laundry at my own house and I think nothing of throwing in a load."

"The truth is I'm perfectly fine around the house. I do dishes. I clean counters. I do everything."

"I'm a good guy to have around the house."

Despite being a worldwide movie star, Clive says his priority will always be his family.

The 44-year-old star added to the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper: "I'm a parent, and my girls are such a huge part of my life. I go off to do my movies and then come home and look after my girls."

The "Closer" star recently said his loved ones help keep him grounded.

He explained: "I've got actor friends who didn't get breaks, who struggle and worry about things that I'm fortunate not to have to worry about."

"I don't take anything for granted. If it stopped now, I'd go, 'Clive, you had a good run there.'"

... this is like... he's handsome, successful, stayed married to the SAME woman, a good father and does stuff around the house. i just heart him so much right now.

more love for neil gaiman, for he is god

In the brand new issue of Empire Magazine, Neil Gaiman gives a little interview about a couple of his prospective future projects. Firstly, he confirms that Neil Jordan will be directing the adaptation of his excellent novel "The Graveyard Book," saying that "Henry Selick, who directed "Coraline," wanted to do it in stop-motion, but I said no. I want the ghosts in "The Graveyard Book" to be played by classic British actors, like Bill Nighy, Judi Dench and Stephen Fry." Furthermore, he also gives weight to the persistent rumors that he would be teaming with Guillermo Del Toro for an adaptation of the Marvel character "Doctor Strange": "Guillermo and I did speak about it, but he's a busy man. However, if he decides to do it, he knows I will jump on board." Pick up the new Empire for more from Gaiman.
...does this mean that MAYBE POSSIBLY i can hope that there will be an American Gods movie in some uncertain future, preferably before i die?

also, i think i like cillian murhy a lot. not only because he's pretty (because he is!) but also he did a good job in sunshine. yep, that danny boyle movie. that's my kind of sci-fi. although, must admit that the ending could have been better. and this is why i went to sleep at 1 a.m. last night.
in other news.. more "the road". nick cave on the soundtrack? i love the idea. also this is part of my personal "give viggo an oscar" campaign. the man totally deserves it.

true blood news

Alan Ball gave away the biggest clue to "" season 3 by spilling on who took Bill at the end of the second season. In his revealing interview with Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly, the creator of the vampire series even offered the question himself. [Spoiler Alert] He said, the person using silver chain to abduct Bill was Hoyt's mother, Maxine.

Whether he was joking or not, the possibility seemed distant because Maxine hardly has any motive to take Bill as hostage. Also, the mysterious person wore a pair of black gloves while holding the silver chain, which leads to the speculation that it may as well be someone who is susceptible to silver, vampires. (ERIC COMES TO MIND FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER HERE. IT'S NOT LIKE HE SAID HE'LL TAKE CARE OF BILL PERSONALLY)

Ball was indeed in teasing mode when he conducted the interview with EW, confirming some things but stopping when it came to the spoilery bits. Asked why Eric did not play a big part on the September 13 finale, he said "There is a reason for not seeing Eric in the last part of the episode (no, there is no absolutely no reason for that...), but if I explain it, I'll be [giving away] too much." He added that Eric will still be a major character in the third season. (YAY!)

Among those he confirmed to be a story in third season are 'what Sookie really is', 'Queen Sophie-Anne meets King of Mississippi', 'Sam's blood relatives', 'Fellowship of the Sun still exists', 'possible Jason-Tara romance', 'vulnerable Lafayette' and 'Hoyt and Jessica have problems'.(what about the eric sookie romance? dude, the book says they end up together so you'd better do that)

Most importantly, Ball gave an update on the production, saying they have "broken four episodes" and he has "sent writers out to write scripts over the hiatus." Revealing that shooting will begin before Christmas, Ball predicted season 3 will come around the same time as season 2, which is June next year. (WHY SO LATE, I HATE YOU PEOPLE!! I HAVE TO WAIT AN ENTIRE YEAR FOR THE THIRD SEASON??)

On another news, Tony-winning actor Denis O'Hare has been cast to be King of Mississippi.

quick news

a short history of horror movies -my personal favourite decade is the 90's. but they do not mention anything about movies such as "The Cabinet of Dr. Cagliari" or "Nosferatu". In my personal and humble opinion, those movies are scarier than any of those listed above.
Halloween 2 (or 10, whatever) is worse than The Final Destination. Uh, i don't care.. Why would I (or anyone for that matter) would want to see those movies and pay for them.
Twilight in the 80's! Because... well, somebody actually thought to make it up. And River Phoenix would be Edward Cullen

a bunch of news

why is tarantino awesome. the inglorious basterds review. Also:

'Inglourious Basterds' Has A Glorious Opening In The Saturday Box Office Report- 14 milions yesterday.

Is Jackson Rathbone the Next Orlando Bloom? that's a good question...

New still of Alice!

Catherine Hardwicke is doing a gothic retelling of the Little Red Riding Hood with a love triangle and werewolves. I will set a CH shrine in my house and worship her now. Because originally That Story is exactly about coming of age in a woman. Paths of pins or path of needles anyone? So yes, i am loving the idea so much.

Will Rpattz overcome his Edward image?
I don't care, really...
WTF Forever Dawn? Are you people for real?? I am already seeing a greedy producer getting ready for a fifth installment.. * later edit. OMG, I was actually right about that...
Remakes of the week - Excalibur and The Yellow Submarine
Even Eomer is a vampire. In the same movie with James. Yes, i know, that bridge movie PJ is planning shows that all the characters in LotR are bloodsuckers that love emo teenagers. Except Elrond, who is actually a werewolf.
Milla Jovovich got married. Suprisingly, her new hubby is nor a vamp, nor a werewolf.
