venus in taurus inspiration

i've just finished the first pair of pants that are actually nice! oh, there's the small issue of the button, but whatever, blah, it's finally here. appropriately light blue, confy and feminine with a sweet rounded hem, made of light cotton cloth. thanking venus for divine inspiration - look this transit is doing wonders for my couture skills.

later edit: i can't believe it, i've actually managed to put the button right!! actually the buttonhole which, in my experience, is the part where i usually screw up spectacularly for unknown reasons such as forgetting to set the sewing machine right. and i found in the house the kind of button i was visualizing for these pants and i wasn't able to find in the shop - clear, simple, 4-holes button AND it fit the buttonhole i made for the not so perfect button i found at the store.
i feel like an accomplished couturier right now. * terribly satisfied smirk. all i really need is for mom to finish the cute little lacey knit top i asked her for and i'm as pretty as a peach.

what can i say, i value the things i can make myself.

not-so libran

i know not her rising and this makes it a little complicated but still. she does not look or act like a libran and this is puzzling. okay, so planets whatever aspecting whatnots but there are a few things libra femmes i know have in common: we like to party, we like to smile, we like, adore, can't live without, damn, if we were presidents we'd create the department of fashion and girly things and romance.
she's not that saturnine and excuse me she's got venus in scorp AND a gemini moon. maybe venus conjunct saturn. secretly hot but she doesn't want to show it? thinks fashion is superficial? she's got the brains and the artsy part.
need more investigations.
also, the hot pink dress eeeeee squee!!!

fashion police

srsly, we need that. because there are some fashion crimes that deserve to be punished severely and immediately. such as animal-printed harem pants. the aesthete in me is revolted!!!!! this is such a heinous item it deserves to be burned at the stake since it offends anyone's tastes (well, maybe except the taste of fashion  victims) and eyesight. my inner balance is upset by the mere thought of that repulsive thing. long story short:
less is more when it comes to animal prints. ALWAYS
harem pants were meant to be worn in a harem, which is indoors.

black velvet and water signs love

i'm working on this black velvet waistcoat (i think this is a very appropriate term) which is going to be ohmygods so victorian. seriously. fitting, feminine, silvery buttons. also, it took me about 2 years to think it over.
on the other hand, i need another "la chatte florence" shirt. preferably cream lace this time. bows and ruffles always help.
oh, yes, about water signs love... if they make a movie, it will be called "the return of dracula". drew barrymore will star as sister-fish and gerard butler as tortured and angsty scorpio love interest. spooky

tuesday morning

we've got news from the polish weather service which claims this winter will be the coldest ever or at least in the last 1000 years. let me tell you it doesn't make me happy. we already had that here and excuse me but i very much prefer the normal weather pattern: few flakes of snow if any, some chilly wind and temperatures above freezing. keep your mountains of snow to yourself, plzthks.
i've got a new pair of jeans and they're sort of awesome although mom disagrees. look, they're skinny and generally models on the catwalks have pretty much the same legs i do so i don't see why i should not wear them. plus they're basic dark wash which is like whoa! seriously, a pair of jeans without sparkles/ tears/ other so called hideous embellishments? and they go so well with the fuchsia sexy shoes.... mom will have a heart attack when she sees me wearing that.
there will be true blood! the last episode of this season! of course, eric can't die!!!

wednesday morning

luckily, the temperatures are up slightly (-3C!!! that's 10 degrees warmer than yesterday morning!) which means i will dress lighter today. lighter meaning without the extra sweater and possibly without the leggings. i'm traumatized by the cold, in all truth. if us humans were made to live at this sort of temperature mother nature would have put shaggy fur all over our bodies. instead we have to deal with what we have. of course, fur is the best option. natural or fake, whatever, just make it fur. fur on top, wool and cotton underneath. also, corduroy.
so, the best fashion options for this ungodly weather are:
thick, wool knitted pantyhose (i wonder if i can call it pantyhose. it's more like skinny pants with socks attached)
leggings on top of that
wool socks (preferably knee-high)
long black corduroy skirt. with underskirt. (y'all, this sort of skirt is approx 10 times warmer than a pair of pants - especially jeans! and you can move much easier. i don't understand the vast majority of women who say the opposite. wearing a thick long ample skirt with underskirt is like wrapping a warm comfortable blanket around your entire lower part. whereas putting pants on = deep freeze. not to mention that there's only so many layers you can put under pants, while under this sort of skirt you can even add that extra pair of pajama pants. whoever laughs at this idea, obviously is sort of suicidal)
sweaters, obviously
flat boots. because i have to walk on snow, ice and must be stable
my tunisian pashmina. great for head and face covering or wrapping around the body
last but definitely not least, the long fur coat. the only thing it lacks is the hood, but let's not be picky. note> fur must be on the inside.

a wednesday morning

quiet, calm, rainy, omg i love life. i also love fashion and had an epiphany yesterday. the monsters under my bed have absolutely no place to hide there, since there are tons of fabrics - means it is time to start sewing again soon. like -
-plaid dress
-light gray cloche skirt. there will also be a black detail, at the waist or something, but i am still figuring that out
-possibly another plaid skirt (plaid IS awesome, there aren't enough plaid clothes in this world, i tell you)
-chinese (?) velvet t-shirt. also, i have a dark pink something velvet.
-flowery shirt with a bow
- something made of that lacey material i have that is so pretty and i don't know exactly how to transform it
-red pencil skirt (haven't forgot about it)
-shorten the dress for sister + other stuff for sister.

government is going down down in an earlier round

... but the show will go on. and i say unto thee... what-ever!
on a more interesting note, i have a new pair of somewhat plaid pants. also i want:
gloves. preferably in brown leather, elbow length (drool)
a pretty hat
brown fancy boots to match the gloves.
fancy bag.
plaid pantyhose
and stuff that i will do someday soon when i have the time:
the red pencil skirt
the plaid pants (another pair. what? there's not enough plaid in this world, shut up)
the lace-like blouse that i am not entirely sure what it will look like
a boho chic winter dress
a puffy 50's light gray skirt

fashion trends i really really don't like

as a matter of fact i'm against fashion trends in general since they usually turn into uniforms. ugly ones, what's more. ugh. so here we go:
bright intense colors such as mauve, fuchsia, stoplight green, bright pink aren't for everyone. no really, they're annoying.
big bags. especially big bags with blings all over them, they're not feminine, not elegant not anything. they're just ugly. plus, you don't really need them unless you intend to put half your house inside.
animal prints. geez, where do i start? in my entire life i saw only one animal print blouse that was nice and it was worn with a simple beige skirt. awesome. the rest of them are just so goddamn tacky and they make you look like a cheap version of sheena the queen of the jungle. or desert.
jeans are not elegant wear, i don't care what designers say. skinny jeans are by default a fashion crime since 99% of women wearing them look like hell. honestly, unless you have those perfect photoshopped legs, don't bother. also, the hideous lovechild of jeans and harem pants that was so in this summer - stop wearing them. same goes for your boyfriend's jeans. unless you happen to wear the same size, don't go out like that. and don't roll the cuffs. if some idiotic celebrity jumped over a bridge would you do the same?
short pants aren't meant to be worn with heels. also, shorts with creases who come just above the knee make no sense. you look like a retarded schoolboy. wear instead hotpants, capris, whatever.
lots of jewelry looks nice if you happen to live in India or Arabia. in any other circumstances ... well... less is more. same goes for lots of everything - make up, revealing clothes, patterns and the rest.
big shoulders didn't look good in the 80's and they won't look any better now.
gladiator sandals with heels are against nature
macrame boots make me shudder
