mr unicorn no. 2
i so admire the dedication of the rom-coms to present unrealistic relationships as everyday life. after the mess that was "eat pray love", i saw last evening "the rebound". because it was on tv, that's why. the story: catherine zeta jones divorces her lousy husband, takes her 2 kids to ny, gets a job at a tv station. cathy gets mr. unicorn no. 2 as a nanny. mr unicorn is:
24
loves kids
knows how to cook
smart, funny, caring, romantic, responsible and looks like he's not in heat all the time
at this point i expected talking animals and an alien invasion. honestly now, a 24 years old male who is not testosterone poisoned? he doesn't dream of getting laid with as many women as possible? no macho-prick attitude that makes you want to run him over repeatedly with an army truck? he doesn't run screaming when cathy tells him she's pregnant but actually he is happy?
AND THEN HE ADOPTS A CHILD FROM THAILAND OR SOMETHING TO BECOME A SINGLE DAD. WHATEVER, MOVIE.
